SEO Subscription Terms

Looking for the SEO audit itself? It is here.

Effective date: 14 October 2026

1. About these terms

1.1 These terms are an agreement between Free the Desk (we, us, our) and the business that signs up for an SEO audit or SEO subscription (you, your). They are business terms.

1.2 The person accepting these terms confirms they are authorised to agree to them on behalf of the business.

1.3 Our details:

2. The service

2.1 Each audit analyses your search data, your website and your Google Business Profile, runs our foundation checks, and gives you written findings with recommendations ranked by their likely value.

2.2 On a subscription, we track changes that are likely to be measurable and impactful, chosen at our discretion, so that later audits can report what those changes achieved.

2.3 We prepare audits using our own tools and review them before delivery.

2.4 Our audits are iterative and change over time. What each audit covers, includes or leaves out is at our discretion.

2.5 The service is analysis and recommendations. It does not include implementing changes, writing content, link building, managing Google Ads or development work. We can quote any of these separately at our hourly rate.

3. Plans and prices

3.1 You can choose:

3.2 Each plan has its own price. The price shown before you pay is the total you pay.

3.3 You keep the price you signed up at. If we increase it, we will give you at least 30 days' notice and the chance to cancel before the new price applies.

3.4 You can ask to change your subscription to a different cadence. The change takes effect from your next billing period.

4. Payment and renewal

4.1 Payment is taken in advance through Stripe. Card details are entered into Stripe and are never stored by us.

4.2 A subscription renews automatically at its cadence until you cancel it. A one-off audit is charged once and does not renew.

4.3 If a payment fails, we may retry it and may pause audits until your account is paid up.

5. Getting started and access

5.1 Payment opens your account. Your first audit starts once your data access is connected.

5.2 To produce audits we need read access to data sources such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics and your Google Business Profile. Where a data source cannot give read-only access and you give us wider access, you do so at your own risk. We only ever read your data; we never change it.

5.3 You confirm that you are allowed to give us access to every data source you connect.

5.4 You can remove our access at any time. Audits stop until access is restored.

5.5 If no data access is connected within 30 days of payment, we will remind you, and you can cancel and receive a full refund.

6. Cancelling and refunds

6.1 You can cancel a subscription at any time. There is no minimum term and no exit fee.

6.2 To cancel, email hello@freethedesk.com.au from your account email, or use your portal once that option is available.

6.3 Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for, and we still deliver that period's audit.

6.4 Paid periods are not refunded for a change of mind or unused time.

6.5 A one-off audit that we have not started is refunded in full.

6.6 Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

7. Results

7.1 We do not guarantee rankings, traffic, enquiries or revenue. Search engines, AI tools and other platforms change in ways outside our control, and results also depend on your market, your competitors and how recommendations are put into practice.

8. Your responsibilities

8.1 You are responsible for:

8.2 You must keep your logins private and tell us promptly about any unauthorised access to your account.

8.3 You may share your audits with your staff, developer or agency. You may not resell them or present them as your own product.

8.4 You must not use the service unlawfully, give us misleading information, interfere with its security, or try to access another customer's information.

9. Your data

9.1 We use your data only to provide the service. We never sell your data or pass it on to anyone else, except to the service providers we need to run the service (such as hosting and payments), who may use it only for that purpose, or where the law requires.

9.2 We may use aggregated, de-identified information that cannot identify you or anyone else to improve the service.

9.3 Within 90 days after your account ends, we delete the data we collected from your connected data sources. We keep billing records for as long as tax law requires.

9.4 We handle personal information in line with our Privacy Policy and Australian privacy law.

10. Ownership and confidentiality

10.1 You own your audits and your data.

10.2 We own our methods, checks, templates and software.

10.3 We may use your feedback to improve the service, without naming you.

10.4 We will only name you or publish your results with your written permission.

10.5 Each of us will protect the other's confidential information and use it only for this agreement, unless disclosure is required by law. This does not apply to information that is already public, already lawfully known, or independently developed.

11. Third parties and events outside our control

11.1 The service relies on third parties such as Stripe and Google, which have their own terms. We are not responsible for their outages or decisions, but we will take reasonable steps to work around them.

11.2 Neither of us is liable for a delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control.

12. Suspension and termination

12.1 We may pause the service where reasonably necessary because of non-payment, a security threat or unlawful use.

12.2 Either of us may end this agreement if the other commits a material breach and does not fix it within 14 days of written notice, or immediately if the breach involves fraud.

13. Liability

13.1 Neither of us is liable to the other for indirect or consequential loss.

13.2 Our total liability under this agreement is limited to the fees you paid us in the 6 months before the event giving rise to the claim. This limit does not apply to fraud, wilful misconduct, a breach of confidentiality, or any liability the law does not allow us to limit.

13.3 Each of us must take reasonable steps to reduce any loss.

14. Changes to these terms

14.1 We may update these terms. If a change disadvantages you, we will give you at least 30 days' notice, and you may cancel before the change takes effect.

14.2 We keep a record of the version you accepted.

15. Disputes

15.1 If a dispute arises, the party raising it must first give written notice, and both of us must try in good faith to resolve it.

15.2 These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, and both of us submit to the courts of Western Australia.

16. General

16.1 Neither of us may transfer this agreement without the other's consent, except that we may transfer it as part of a genuine sale of our business, with notice to you.

16.2 If any part of these terms is unenforceable, it is read down or removed only as far as necessary, and the rest continues to apply.

16.3 Notices may be sent by email to your account email address or to hello@freethedesk.com.au.

16.4 These terms are the entire agreement for the SEO service, unless a signed custom proposal says otherwise.
