Affiliate Program Terms

Looking for the program itself? It is here.

Effective date: 26 October 2026

1. About these terms

1.1 These terms are an agreement between freethedesk (we, us, our) and the person or business that joins the podcast affiliate program (you, your). They are business terms.

1.2 The person accepting these terms confirms they are authorised to agree to them on behalf of the podcast or business they sign up.

1.3 Our details:

1.4 Joining the program does not make you our employee, agent, partner or representative. You may not make promises or commitments on our behalf.

2. The program

2.1 When you join, we give you a discount code, and you may add codes of your own in your portal, up to the number it allows. A listener who enters one of your codes when buying an SEO audit from us gets the discount shown on the affiliate page on the day that code was made, and the audit counts as yours. A code you add must be one nobody else holds, and we may refuse or remove a code that is misleading, offensive or trades on someone else's name.

2.2 We also write you one SEO audit of your own website, free, of the tier the affiliate page names at the time you join. It is written under the SEO Audit Terms as if you had bought it, except that nothing is paid and nothing is refundable. It needs the data access those terms describe. We endeavour to write it promptly once that access is connected, but paid audits come first and we write it when we have time.

2.3 You are not obliged to recommend us after reading your audit, and we may decline to write a free audit for a website that is not yours or that we could not audit lawfully.

2.4 We may change the discount, the share, the audits on sale or their prices. A change to the discount applies to codes made after it; a change to the share applies to audits paid for after we have told you about it.

3. What you earn

3.1 For every SEO audit bought with your code and paid in full, you earn the share shown on the affiliate page on the day it was paid, worked out on what the listener paid for the audit after their discount.

3.2 A commission is pending once the audit is paid, and owed once we have started writing the audit, which is when the buyer's right to a refund under the SEO Audit Terms ends. We pay out owed commissions only. If an audit is refunded while its commission is pending, the commission is cancelled; if one is refunded after its commission has been paid to you, we may deduct it from your next payout or ask you to return it.

3.3 Nothing is earned on an audit you buy yourself, an audit bought for a business you own or work for, or an audit bought with a code other than yours.

3.4 Commissions are paid out through Stripe to the payout account you set up with us. We pay what you are owed at least fortnightly once you have set that account up, in Australian dollars. Stripe may charge fees on the transfer, and you need to meet Stripe's own requirements to receive one.

3.5 You are responsible for any tax on what you earn. If you are registered for GST, tell us before your first payout and we will account for it.

3.6 Our record of which audits were bought with your code is final, unless you show it is wrong.

4. How you may promote us

4.1 You may share your code and link on your podcast, in its show notes, in your newsletter, on your website and on your own social media accounts.

4.2 You must tell your audience, where you share the code, that you earn a commission when they use it. Australian consumer law requires this, and so do we.

4.3 You must not:

4.4 We may give you words and images to use. You may edit them for your show as long as they stay accurate.

5. Your account

5.1 You must keep your sign-in details private and tell us promptly about any unauthorised access.

5.2 You must give us accurate details and keep them current, including the payout account your commissions are paid to.

5.3 You may share your portal with the people who help run your podcast. You may not sell, lend or transfer your account or your code.

6. Your data and your audience's

6.1 We handle personal information in line with our Privacy Policy and Australian privacy law. We tell you that an audit was bought with your code and what you earned from it, never who bought it.

6.2 We use the data we collect for your free audit only to write it, under the SEO Audit Terms.

7. Suspension and ending the program

7.1 Either of us may end this agreement at any time by telling the other. Commissions already owed are still paid; your code stops working for new purchases.

7.2 We may suspend or end your account at once, and withhold commissions not yet paid, if you break section 4, give us misleading information, or act fraudulently.

7.3 We may close the program at any time. Commissions owed at that date are still paid.

8. Liability

8.1 Neither of us is liable to the other for indirect or consequential loss.

8.2 Our total liability to you under this agreement is limited to the commissions owed to you in the 3 months before the event giving rise to the claim. This limit does not apply to fraud, wilful misconduct or any liability the law does not allow us to limit.

8.3 We do not guarantee that anyone will buy an audit with your code, and we are not responsible for the outages or decisions of third parties such as Stripe.

9. Changes to these terms

9.1 We may update these terms. If a change disadvantages you, we will give you at least 30 days' notice, and you may leave the program before the change takes effect.

9.2 We keep a record of the version you accepted.

10. Disputes and general

10.1 If a dispute arises, the party raising it must first give written notice, and both of us must try in good faith to resolve it.

10.2 These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, and both of us submit to the courts of Western Australia.

10.3 Neither of us may transfer this agreement without the other's consent, except that we may transfer it as part of a genuine sale of our business, with notice to you.

10.4 If any part of these terms is unenforceable, it is read down or removed only as far as necessary, and the rest continues to apply.

10.5 Notices may be sent by email to your account email address or to hello@freethedesk.com.au.

10.6 These terms are the entire agreement for the affiliate program.
