SEO Audit Terms

Looking for the SEO audit itself? It is here.

Effective date: 24 October 2026

1. About these terms

1.1 These terms are an agreement between freethedesk (we, us, our) and the business that buys an SEO audit (you, your). They are business terms.

1.2 The person accepting these terms confirms they are authorised to agree to them on behalf of the business.

1.3 Our details:

1.4 If you bought an SEO subscription before 24 October 2026, the terms you accepted then continue to apply to that subscription until it ends.

2. The audit

2.1 Each audit is a written report on how your business shows up in search, with recommendations ranked by their likely value. What it reads depends on the audit you buy:

2.2 The second look in a Complete audit reads the same sources again and reports what has changed since the first report, including what the changes you made earned. It needs your data access to still be connected.

2.3 The check against Australian rules points out what your website appears to be missing. It is not legal advice.

2.4 We prepare audits using our own tools and review them before delivery.

2.5 Our audits are iterative and change over time. Within the audit you buy, what each report covers, includes or leaves out is at our discretion. A data source you do not connect is left out.

2.6 The service is analysis and recommendations. It does not include implementing changes, writing content, link building, managing Google Ads or development work. We can quote any of these separately at our hourly rate.

3. Prices and payment

3.1 Each audit has its own price. The price shown before you pay is the total you pay.

3.2 Each audit is paid once, in advance, through Stripe. Nothing renews. Card details are entered into Stripe and are never stored by us.

3.3 You can buy another audit at any time, at the price shown then.

4. Getting started and access

4.1 Payment opens your account. Your audit starts once the data access it needs is connected.

4.2 To produce an audit we need read access to the data sources it reads, such as Google Search Console, your website analytics, your Google Business Profile and Google Ads. Where a data source cannot give read-only access and you give us wider access, you do so at your own risk. We only ever read your data; we never change it.

4.3 You confirm that you are allowed to give us access to every data source you connect.

4.4 You can remove our access at any time. Work that needs it stops until access is restored.

4.5 If no data access is connected within 30 days of payment, we will remind you, and you can cancel and receive a full refund.

5. Refunds

5.1 An audit that we have not started is refunded in full.

5.2 Once we have started an audit, it is not refunded for a change of mind.

5.3 Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

6. Results

6.1 We do not guarantee rankings, traffic, enquiries or revenue. Search engines, AI tools and other platforms change in ways outside our control, and results also depend on your market, your competitors and how recommendations are put into practice.

7. Your responsibilities

7.1 You are responsible for:

7.2 You must keep your logins private and tell us promptly about any unauthorised access to your account.

7.3 You may share your audits with your staff, developer or agency. You may not resell them or present them as your own product.

7.4 You must not use the service unlawfully, give us misleading information, interfere with its security, or try to access another customer's information.

8. Your data

8.1 We use your data only to provide the service. We never sell your data or pass it on to anyone else, except to the service providers we need to run the service (such as hosting and payments), who may use it only for that purpose, or where the law requires.

8.2 We may use aggregated, de-identified information that cannot identify you or anyone else to improve the service.

8.3 Within 90 days after your account ends, we delete the data we collected from your connected data sources. We keep billing records for as long as tax law requires.

8.4 We handle personal information in line with our Privacy Policy and Australian privacy law.

9. Ownership and confidentiality

9.1 You own your audits and your data.

9.2 We own our methods, checks, templates and software.

9.3 We may use your feedback to improve the service, without naming you.

9.4 We will only name you or publish your results with your written permission.

9.5 Each of us will protect the other's confidential information and use it only for this agreement, unless disclosure is required by law. This does not apply to information that is already public, already lawfully known, or independently developed.

10. Third parties and events outside our control

10.1 The service relies on third parties such as Stripe and Google, which have their own terms. We are not responsible for their outages or decisions, but we will take reasonable steps to work around them.

10.2 Neither of us is liable for a delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control.

11. Suspension and termination

11.1 We may pause the service where reasonably necessary because of non-payment, a security threat or unlawful use.

11.2 Either of us may end this agreement if the other commits a material breach and does not fix it within 14 days of written notice, or immediately if the breach involves fraud.

12. Liability

12.1 Neither of us is liable to the other for indirect or consequential loss.

12.2 Our total liability under this agreement is limited to the fees you paid us in the 6 months before the event giving rise to the claim. This limit does not apply to fraud, wilful misconduct, a breach of confidentiality, or any liability the law does not allow us to limit.

12.3 Each of us must take reasonable steps to reduce any loss.

13. Changes to these terms

13.1 We may update these terms. If a change disadvantages you, we will give you at least 30 days' notice, and you may cancel before the change takes effect.

13.2 We keep a record of the version you accepted.

14. Disputes

14.1 If a dispute arises, the party raising it must first give written notice, and both of us must try in good faith to resolve it.

14.2 These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, and both of us submit to the courts of Western Australia.

15. General

15.1 Neither of us may transfer this agreement without the other's consent, except that we may transfer it as part of a genuine sale of our business, with notice to you.

15.2 If any part of these terms is unenforceable, it is read down or removed only as far as necessary, and the rest continues to apply.

15.3 Notices may be sent by email to your account email address or to hello@freethedesk.com.au.

15.4 These terms are the entire agreement for the SEO service, unless a signed custom proposal says otherwise.
